Protestant cemetery in Macau

Protestant cemetery in Macau

Protestant cemetery in Macau 基督教墳場
This place provides a glimpse into the life of the multinational community of Macau. Located near the Casa Garden, the cemetery allows you to trace the history of the first Protestant settlers in Macau. A chapel was also built here in 1821, also called the Morrison Chapel, in honor of Robert Morrison (1782-1834). George Chinnery (1774-1852), an important figure in the Anglo-Chinese trade, is also buried in this cemetery, as well as a number of other prominent people of the era, including several employees of the East India Company and Protestants from the USA and Great Britain.
