New shopping mall M8 Macau

New shopping mall M8 Macau

M8 Macau Shopping Mall
The nine-storey mall will include luxury retailers such as the DFS Group, as well as restaurants on the underground floors.
Located in the historic area on Rua da Se Street, the nine-story building has a total area of 80,000 square feet, three of which have already been reserved for luxury retailer DFS Group. The complex will consist of six retail floors and three underground floors, two of which will be reserved for restaurants.

The project was developed jointly by the Macau Post and Telecommunications Bureau (also known by its Portuguese acronym CTT) and China State Construction in a building previously used as a dormitory for CTT employees.

According to official sources, “M8 is a cultural shopping destination that draws inspiration from Macau’s rich heritage. The project respects the historical context of the city by linking Senado Square with the surrounding ancient streets.” The name of the mall reflects this approach: M stands for the city itself, and 8 stands for the eight surrounding cultural heritage sites in the area.

The first anchor tenant of the M8 will be DFS. The center is located about 50 meters from Senado Square and covers more than 120 local and international brands in the field of watches, cosmetics, food and gifts, which will occupy three floors.

Three restaurants will also open: Mango Tree from Thailand, Modern Shanghai Imperial from Hong Kong and Terrace in Seaside from Incheon, South Korea.

This project is considered to be the first urban regeneration initiative invested, built and managed by China State Construction Engineering (Macau), a subsidiary of China State Construction International Holdings.

There is a story associated with the name of the nine-storey building: the letter “M” stands for Macau, and the number “8” indicates its location within 8 percent of the original territory of Macau, surrounded by eight World Heritage sites within a radius of one hundred meters.

Previously, there was a dormitory for employees of the Macau Post Office on this site, and the design of the building combines elements of Chinese and Portuguese architecture. The facade also allowed the M8 to set a Guinness World record for the “largest curved glass laminated with stone” last December.

Update January 19, 2026
The new shopping mall in Macau – M8 shopping mall is located 2 steps from Senado Square. 5 floors with expensive clothes.
In my opinion, the best thing about this shopping center is the Mango tree restaurant with a terrace!
