I have visited 40 of the 133 hotels in Macau and I am sharing my personal experience!

Listen to me, I’ve been to Macau about 200 times and spent the night in more than 40 Macau hotels.

Many of those who arrive in Hong Kong and go to Macau for 2 days book a hotel at random. Because they don’t know what’s where. And most of the hotels here have obscure names.
There are too many whore hotels in Macau. If you are with your family, choose decent hotels, only the best of the 5—star ones, otherwise you will regret it very much.
First, I’ll tell you which hotels are better not to book.
Do not book the Grand Lisboa Hotel, Golden Dragon Hotel, Casa Real, RIO, Royal Hotel, Guia hotel and most hotels on the Macau Peninsula.
You should not book the Venice hotel (Venetian extremely bad reviews), Parisian (Parisian in general, nothing good. I went into the room and was surprised that my friends had “stolen” the money. But maybe a better suite), a Londoner (A Londoner is an unreasonably expensive remodeling of a cheap Holiday Inn hotel).

Good hotels in Macau (on the island)
Versace as part of Grand Lisboa Palace. A new hotel.
Its price is quite low (but it strongly depends on the day of the week).

Lisboeta The new hotel is opposite the Grand Lisboa Palace. I’ve stayed there 2 or 3 times. In fact, this is the only adequate option on the island for spending the night in the new casino area. Cheaper, you can say no, but more expensive is already much more expensive. The optimal choice!

Studio City. It is ideal if you have children and you stay in the summer. There is a water park here. The disadvantage is that there are few shops in the hotel, you have to go to neighboring hotels. You should not ride the funicular in the form of an 8. Questionable entertainment, nothing interesting. It’s much more spectacular to look at from the outside.

W hotel Macau. A brand new hotel at a fairly low price (1000 pataka per night. At the time of posting the article, prices may be different). Near Studio City. I liked the print, but the location is a bit off. 15 minutes walk to the traffic jam in the Konrad area.

Raffles Macau. The new Ultra Luxury hotel in the Galaxy complex. Top-of-the-line stomper for a lot of money! Reservations are only available on their website.

And now a personal experience.
I’ve stayed in 40 hotels in Macau.
Conrad Macau I stopped 6-7 times. A suite with a huge Jacuzzi and a view of the Eiffel Tower is worth it. Breakfast is beyond praise. There was a heated swimming pool in winter. But the price tag is quite high (I booked for HiltonHonors points, and usually booked at a special Family and Friends rate).

Sofitel Macau. I stopped once. The coolest thing is the pool. The rooms are good, cool linens, pillows. We took it at a special rate with a Dowin – considering the price it was good. But in general, the location is usually expensive, and in my opinion it is not a fountain, especially in the evening to die of boredom in the area (if you do not know the bars and saunas with girls). On good days, the price is 600-700 patak (100 USD) – you need to take it! A great family hotel, especially in summer. The casino is no longer there. And that’s probably a good thing.

Regency art hotel. The old hotel on the island. It makes sense to stay in the summer (beautiful outdoor pool). The price is very low (500 patak). And there is no Art there. It’s a dull kick-ass. But the price is a gift. The area is so-so, you can’t go out and take a walk (more on this below).

Altira Macau. The neighboring hotel is from the Regency art hotel. The rooms are ordinary, there is a Jacuzzi. Nothing wow. The casino is small, but the food there is a little. The bar is cool, on the highest floor, in the same place as the lobby. There’s no point in stopping at all. The prices are like on the Cotai strip, and the area is not for tourists. But there is Ikea Macau and a large shopping mall Nova Mall with a large supermarket. There is no such thing on the Cotai Strip!

England Marina Club Hotel. It is located behind the Galaxy complex. A new hotel in 2023. There’s only one problem – the sound insulation of the rooms goes to hell. Don’t stop! But the price is humane (700-800 pounds). Rooms with only 2 beds.

Grand Lisboa Palace. A new hotel. Considering what I’ve seen (the rooms, even the suites, are small and not exciting for your money), this hotel is not worth a visit. In the same hotel, you should take the Versace Tower, then it’s better.

Hotel RIO (on the Macau Peninsula)
The hotel is not bad, but it makes no sense for an ordinary tourist to stay there. I stayed there for certain purposes that would not occur to an ordinary tourist. I do not recommend booking!

Hotel Casa Real (on the Macau Peninsula)
The hotel is so-so, the rooms are cool in winter. Do not book in any case! It’s a hell of a place in this area.

Hotel Golden Dragon (on the Macau Peninsula, next to the Casa Real Hotel)
The hotel is very nice. I highly recommend it! I’ve lived there more than 10 times!
But not for families with children. There are too many prostitutes there (I can give you a Telegram catalog).

Royal Hotel (on the Macau Peninsula)
Is basically a good hotel, I stayed there 3 or 4 times. There is a swimming pool, sauna. But I do not recommend booking, like any other hotel on the peninsula. Book hotels only in the Kotai casino area on the island – you can go for a walk there in the evening!

Yoho treasure island (on the Macau Peninsula)
The hotel is basically cool, 5 stars, and the pool is spectacular. You won’t find a horseradish lobby, I’m a little surprised what the lobby looks like.
The room was decent. Recommendation – Do not book in any case! I’ve lived there 2 times.

Pensao Familia (Rua das Estalagens) (on the Macau Peninsula)
It is a chain of hotels in the historic center of Macau.
I booked a room, but I wanted to spend the night there, just drop my things. I wanted to spend the night at another hotel.
As a result, I spent the night. I want to say that for that kind of money (50 USD) is very good. Because in Hong Kong, even for 100-150 USD there is no such quality. So for a budget, it will do. The classic problem is that the room is small and you will hear everything that is happening around you, which will affect your rest and sleep.

Riviera hotel Macau (on the Macau Peninsula)
I don’t recommend it in any case! The location is not a fountain, the service is poor, the rooms are nothing to worry about. It also costs a lot (100 USD+).

Fu Hua Hotel
A hotel on the Macau Peninsula. On this day, July 26, 2025, there were cosmic prices for all hotels.
I stupidly chose the cheapest hotel in the app trip.com
The price was 647 yuan. The room is 12 m2. In principle, I slept normally. But the hotel is old. I don’t recommend it!!!!!

St Regis Macao
I took the simplest room for 1400 yuan, but on the 32nd floor and with a view of the Eiffel Tower.
In general, I do not recommend it. The neighboring Conrad or Londoner Grand are much better!

Harbourview hotel Macau
I took a room with a view of the bay. The number is normal. But the price was high – 1,000 yuan. If it’s less than 500 yuan, you can live!
There is a nice swimming pool with a Jacuzzi. There is no sauna. There is a sauna for girls only in this hotel. You need to pay for admission, only after that the girls will be shown.

Legend Palace hotel Macau
My room was a royal suite. Swimming pool and sauna approx. The breakfast is unexpectedly decent.
In general, I can recommend it if the price does not exceed 700 yuan per night.

The hotel has exceeded all expectations! Super! Excellent sauna and Jacuzzi, comfortable and fresh rooms!
This hotel used to be called the mandarin oriental Macau
I had a Grand resort view King room for 1,100 yuan per night.
It is located on the Macau Peninsula.

Hotel in Macau Grand Emperor Hotel
There is no casino in this hotel anymore. There is a sauna with girls. They don’t let you watch girls, you have to pay first!
I spent the night in January 2026.
They gave me a big room. In general, nothing special.
The price was too high – about 11,000 rubles per night.
I do not recommend booking!

The worst hotel I’ve ever lived in in Macau.
But I swam in the pool a bit. Do not book in any case!

Hotel in Macau New Orient landmark Hotel
There is no casino in this hotel anymore. There are 2 saunas with girls and a strip club.
This is the oldest 5-star hotel in Macau. The rooms have been updated.
The price was about 5,000 rubles per night.
I don’t recommend it. There are better hotels nearby!

Andaz Macau
It was opened in 2023. The location is a bit unfortunate, far from the Cotai strip. Next to the W Macau Hotel.
I spent the night at this hotel on September 25, 2025.
Wow, what a special atmosphere there is in the lobby and bar on the 6th floor, like in the W Macau Hotel.
There are free drinks and beer in the lobby in the evening.
The room itself is almost like in Lisboeta, only more expensive and smaller.
How this hotel is very different in terms of vibe from Andaz Shenzhen! The last direct raid of luxury and show-offs. The breakfast is excellent!

Four Seasons Macau
It stopped on September 24, 2025.
The hotel has a sauna and a Jacuzzi. There’s also a spa.
I was very pleased with my visit to this hotel! But there is better!
There is also a business center, a room with a computer and a printer.

The experience of clients and friends
The Grand Lisboa Hotel (not to be confused with the lisboa and Grand Lisboa Palace hotels) – tourists say it’s a super crappy hotel with mold. It only needs to be photographed from the outside. A spectacular lotus-shaped building and cool lighting in the evening.

It is strongly recommended to take a hotel Wynn Palace. But I wouldn’t book a room there. You only need to watch the fountain show at the hotel.

Banyan Tree in the Galaxy complex, they say the service is excellent and the rooms are excellent. But the price tag is a bit biting.

Many hotels ask for a HK$500 cash deposit. They don’t charge any other currency.
