The currency is Pataki. Hong Kong dollars and yuan are used 1 to 1. You can withdraw Hong Kong dollars or pataki at ATMs in the city or exchange currency at numerous exchangers on the street (or in hotels).
Entry options to Macau
Macau Airport in the Taipa area (on the island where most Casinos are located)
Taipei Macau Taipa Ferry Terminal (on the island where most Casinos are located)
You can sail here from Hong Kong by Cotaijet.
Outer Harbor jetty. It is located on a peninsula, not far from the historical center. You can sail here from Hong Kong by Turbojet.
From Zhuhai city to the Gunbei Port Border Crossing. The key place to enter and exit Macau is because Zhuhai has a train station to Guangzhou and other cities.
From Zhuhai city – Henching Port Border Crossing.
It is more convenient to enter here if you are traveling by car from Guangzhou and your hotel is on the island.
It is also possible to enter from Hong Kong by cross-border bus (https://www.dsat.gov.mo/hzmb/bus_mac_hk.aspx ).
And by helicopter from Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hong Kong.

Transportation to Macau.
If you are not at the hotel, it is extremely difficult to catch a taxi, there are no applications (there is one hopeless one). Local buses will save you. Payment is 6 patacks, they don’t give you change. You can pay with a MacauPass card (130 patak in 7eleven, 100 patak in the account) or the Mpay application (if you go to their office, there will be a trip of 3 pataks). To find out which bus to take and where, use Google maps or Moovit.
If you are at the hotel, get ready to get in line to board a taxi. If the queue is long and the taxi does not arrive, go to another hotel or catch it on the street (the difficulty is high).
You can rent a minivan with a driver for the day. The price starts from 3500 HKD for 7 hours. I’ll help you book.
Free shuttle buses belonging to Macau hotels have a variety of routes from hotels to border crossings and jetties to the airport. It’s not always convenient, you have to wait up to 30 minutes to board the bus. Set aside a significant amount of time to get where you need to go.​

Shopping
In Macau, prices are without VAT and there are many Duty-free shops. Mostly in expensive hotels on the island. The biggest Dutik in the Grand Lisboa Palace Hotel. Cosmetics and perfumes are the main products. There is also alcohol and some clothes. By downloading the applications of the Duty Free networks (Red by Dufy, CDF GLP), you can order the product 3 hours before receipt and get a good discount.

Restaurants
There are a lot of Michelin-starred restaurants in Macau. You need to book at least a week in advance, and preferably a month in advance! Decent restaurants are almost impossible to find on the street, only in hotels. There are also food courts there. The coronavirus has dealt an irreparable blow to the Macau tour industry and most establishments have closed forever, even restaurants with a ten-year history, as well as souvenir shops and exchangers.
Events
There are no shows for the House of Dancing Water and a number of others yet, but concerts by Chinese and foreign performers are held periodically. See on the Cotai ticketing website.
