16th time in Macau: I love it like the first time!

16th time in Macau: I love it like the first time!
I was back in Macau on December 28, 2019, and I’m sharing my impressions, because there are a lot of them in Macau! I’ve been here 5 times in the last six months.
At the end of the article, catch tips for those who want to visit Macau.
What did you visit on your last trip in 1 day? We had time to watch sooo much! First, we exchanged money, got into a taxi and ate egg tartlets, and then:

Ruins of St. Paul’s Cathedral

The main attraction of Macau, which can be visited over and over again. After all, there are beautiful streets with a unique atmosphere, beautiful patterns on tiles, Senado Square and colorful buildings nearby!

.
Fort Monte Fortress

It is located next to the ruins of the Cathedral on the mountain. Guns from the Opium War era are impressive!
.
The Lighthouse of Guia

The oldest lighthouse in China! Next to it is a temple, plus a park with a cable car. I recommend stopping by the lighthouse for 15 minutes, the view is super!

.
Macau Tower

(view from Penha hill)
The cheapest ticket costs 165 MOP$. It includes visits to the 58th and 61st floors of the tower. There are also many other tickets to choose from: a walk outside the tower, a $3,500 MOP bangi jump, and others. Half of Macau, as well as Zhuhai, can be seen from the tower. I can’t say that visiting the tower is very impressive, especially if you’ve been to 3 or 5 similar towers.
.
Taipa Village

Atomsphere tourist destination is a 10-minute walk from the Venice Hotel. Lots of cool eating establishments. I always have crab and rice porridge for lunch here.

.
Hotel Venice

The No. 1 place to visit among all the hotels and casinos in the city!

It is famous for the huge Sands casino and the water channels with gondolas between the shops, where you can shop around – after all, all prices in Macau are without VAT!
The Venetian is a 1 in 1 replica of a Las Vegas hotel. And the painted sky is like a real one!
Apple Store

The official bargain store is located between the Conrad Hotel and the City of Dreams Complex.
.
The House of Dancing Water show at the City of Dreams complex.

It’s a very publicized, amazing show! The most affordable tickets at 590 MOP$ are no worse than the more expensive ones: the stage is in a semicircle – everything is perfectly visible! I was lucky enough to see it, I can recommend it! You can get free tickets if you spend the night at the City of Dreams complex. A night costs from 1500 MOP$

Some tips:
1. Install the Mpay app. This is a copy of Alipay for Macau.

Register and fill in your personal information. You can top up your account at Royal stores and others.:

It is convenient to pay for small purchases in stores, as well as taxis. To pay for the Mpay bus, you must have a bank card issued in Macau. There is a way out, you can buy a Macau Pass plastic card to pay for the bus and light metro in Macau.

It costs 130 MOP$100 in the account. The balance from the card can be transferred to the Mpay application via NFC by simply attaching the card to your smartphone.

2. The Internet. I buy traffic in Huawei’s Skytone mobile app. The price for 24 hours is only 9.9 yuan. I had a separate article about this on my Wechat official RussianGuangzhou account.
3. Shuttle basses. There are free shuttle buses to hotels from the Border Gate, 2 sea berths and from Macau Airport. You can also take a shuttle bus from the hotels in the opposite direction!
4. Taxis in Macau are a little more expensive than in China, but nevertheless the prices for trips are justified. This is in case it is inconvenient to take a shuttle bus or you do not want to wait for it. Boarding costs $19 MOP, and then you pay for each km.
5. Casinos and membership cards
Prepare Hong Kong dollars before going. At least 100.
The casino has slot machines with bets of 1-2 HKD.
Be sure to get plastic membership cards from Sands Rewards, Melco Club, Macau Wynn and others. Even the basic card gives discounts in restaurants, shops, and tickets. Buy goods in stores, show your cards and get points. Then they can be exchanged for something useful.
6. ТFor those who are not traveling to Macau for the first time, I can also recommend a place called Penha Hill and the Chapel of Our Lady of Penha church, which offers a good view of the city. Plus, the oldest temple in Macau, A-ma temple, is nearby.
