The official currency of Macau is the Pataka (MOP)
Pataca macaense = 澳門圓 = MOP$
1 pataca (МОР$) consists of 100 avos
There are banknotes and coins of the following denominations:
Coins: 10, 20 and 50 avos; 1, 2, 5 and 10 patacas
Banknotes: 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 patacas
The coins are issued by the Government of Macau, the banknotes are issued by the National Overseas Bank and the Bank of China.
