Macau Cathedral
During the construction of the Cathedral (1622), the local building material from Taipa, consisting of clay and straw, was initially used. During the restoration work, divine services were held in the old chapel of the Holy House of Mercy. The main attention in the facade is attracted by pillars and symmetrical turrets, which stand out from the rest of the buildings. The interior of the building is decorated with plaster from Shanghai, which gives the Cathedral a harmonious and majestic appearance.
