St. Augustine’s Church Macau

St. Augustine’s Church Macau

St. Augustine’s Church Macau 聖奧斯定堂
Catholic Church in Macau
Built by Spanish Augustinian monks in 1591, this church still plays the role of the main organizer of religious processions in the city, such as the Easter Procession, which attract thousands of believers. In the past, during the rain, priests covered the roof with palm leaves that looked like dragon whiskers from afar, so the local Chinese nicknamed this church “Longsun Mu” (Temple of the Dragon with Long Whiskers).
