D. Pedro V. Theatre Macau 伯多祿五世劇院
The building, built in 1860, became the first Western-style theater in China, which accommodated 300 people. This theater still plays a significant role in the lives of the city’s residents and remains a meeting place during important events and holidays.
The theater is built in a strict neo-classical style. The main facade is decorated with a portico supported by four groups of Ionic columns. They form three additional arches through which granite steps lead.
The building itself is decorated in white and green tones. Along the exterior walls there is an elegant ornament of floral patterns and garlands, which is emphasized by the perfect white background of the plaster.
