Church of St. Joseph in Macau 聖若瑟修院及聖堂
Established in 1728, the old St. Paul’s Seminary and College was the location from which missionary work was conducted in China, Japan, and throughout the region. The subjects taught here corresponded to the university curriculum. In 1800, Queen Dona Maria I of Portugal awarded this Seminary the royal title of “House of the Divine
Meetings”. St. Peter’s Church St. Joseph’s Church, built in 1758 and adjacent to the St. Peter’s Seminary. St. Joseph’s Cathedral is a true example of Baroque architecture in China, as noted in the UNESCO 2001 edition, which is dedicated to the world architectural monuments of the Baroque.
