There’s a big problem with taxis in Macau. There are few of them! It’s realistic to take a taxi in the lobby of major hotels. It’s hard to catch on the street (you have to stand for 10-15 minutes).
Taxis in Macau are expensive, because Macau has the most expensive gasoline in the world – more than 300 rubles per 1 liter.

There are two types of taxis:
— the usual taxi is black with a cream-colored roof
– taxi radio (yellow).
The starting price of a taxi is MOR$19 for the first 1600 meters. Further PESTILENCE$1.50 will be added for every 230 meters of travel. An additional fee will be charged for waiting for a passenger.$1.50 for every minute.
There is also a radio-taxi-service — tel. (853)2851- 9519, 2893-9939, 85000000 and 28283283.
In addition, an additional MOR$3.00 is charged for each baggage carried in the trunk of a taxi.
There is no surcharge for trips between Macau and Taipa Island, but between Taipa and Coloane the surcharge is MOR$2.00. The MOR$5.00 surcharge is added to the price of a trip from Macau Airport or from the Macau Peninsula to Coloane.

There is no taxi hailing app in Macau. It’s really possible to take a taxi only at the entrance to hotels, it’s hard to catch a taxi on the street.
